The 5.56 LAM blank is our "flagship" 5.56mm / .223 blank, meticulously engineered to replicate the sound and visual effects of live rifle fire. This premium blank has been perfected over years in response to high demand for an authentic shooting experience.
Originally made to give Vietnam reenactors a louder blank than surplus U.S. military blanks, it is now most often used by law enforcement and is the preferred choice of the FBI in their Operation Safe Schools Initiative program (OSSI) for active shooter training.
These are hotter blanks than military and these will burn out your BFA quickly if you shoot too fast. Keep your rate of fire per the Army TM recommended 15 rounds per minute in 14.5 and 16 inch barrels and 12 rounds per minute for Mk18s. A1, A2, & A4 rifles are much more tolerant.
5.56 LAM STANDARD (100 Blanks per bag)
This blank is best used in quality modern 30 rnd magazines. These will not feed well in Colt style 20 rnd mags though will work pretty well in Brownells 20 rounders. These do tend to work well in 5 & 10 round magazines as well.
5.56 MLAM BLANK
Same load as our LAM blank but with a longer case allowing for near universal magazine use.
Longer case will feed out of all magazine including picky 20 round Colt type mags.
The only difference between this blank and the standard LAM is case length.
**BFA Recommendations:**
- 20-inch barrel: .120 BFA
- 16-inch barrel: .125 BFA
- 14.5-inch barrel: .130 BFA
- 11.5-inch barrel: .135 BFA
- 10.5-inch barrel: .135 BFA
- 7-inch barrel: .140 BFA
**Please Note:** Mid-length gas systems should use a BFA approximately .005 smaller than the sizes listed above.
