		Steyr 8x56R rifles can use one of several different blanks for differing uses. The best all around blank is a full length 7.62x54R blank giving both smooth feeding and clean ejection. A cheaper option is short crimp 7.62x54R surplus blanks.  While feeding is a bit slower it is an inexpensive option that provides good sound / flash. If the round is being used in a machinegun a special round can be made for film use to provide the proper bullet profile.
